Oaklynn loves yogurt melts! They are one of the first finger foods she actually picked up and ate herself. I tried the yogurt melts from the store along with the strawberry apple puffs and the organic creamies and she was not too impressed with any of them (this may change later on). Although, when I placed these homemade yogurt melts in front of her, she devoured them! I think it was a plus that they were cold in order to help soothe her sore gums from teething.
Mom loves them as well! They are extremely easy to make and I have a tendency of devouring them myself. I mean who doesn't love a sweet little treat? And they have no added sugar, a definite plus!
The flavor combinations are also endless. For this post I did strawberry and blueberry. Although, I also bought blackberries and mangoes while at the store as well. I think my next combination is going to be strawberry-mango. Yum! I include banana with each fruit in order to thicken up the mixture. Although, feel free to switch out half of a banana for half a cup of Greek Yogurt.
When it comes to piping the melts, I just use a ziploc bag with a hole cut in the corner. Although, if you are not interested in piping you can just line a baking sheet with parchment paper, spread the mixture across, and break it apart once frozen.
