When creating a baby registry, it is hard to not want to put every baby item on your registry. But I am here to tell you some of these items are a complete waste of money. They will eventually turn into something that sits around unused and takes up space. Instead, let your guests buy you something that you will actually use on a daily basis.
So today I want to share with you those baby items that you can skip when creating that baby registry.
Save your money for these 8 New Mom Must Haves Instead
Unneeded Baby Items
Bottle Warmer
An item that I got for my baby shower and I can honestly say that it has been used maybe a total of two times. You can achieve the same effect by putting the bottle in a glass of hot water.
Wipe Warmer
Another item that I got for my baby shower and it is still sitting in the box it came in. My baby has never fussed about a cold wipe on the butt. Plus, I have heard several reviews that they dry out the wipes.
Baby Shoes
You may think baby shoes are darling in all, but no need to waste money on an item when the baby can't even walk. Save your money for socks instead.
Baby Bathtub Thermometer
If you are concerned about the temperature of your baby's bath being too hot, use your wrist to test the water. If the water feels too hot on your wrist, then it's too hot for baby.
Bumper Pads and Fancy Bedding
Bumper pads are not only useless, but they are also dangerous. They are known to increase the risk for SIDS.
Baby Sterilizer
Why waste money on a sterilizer when you can sterilize using boiling water instead?
Shopping Cart Cover
If you are concerned about germs, most grocery stores have sanitizing wipes, at your convenience, to wipe off the cart.
Diaper Genie
Everybody always thinks they need a diaper genie, but more than likely they never end up using it. The liners for the genies are expensive and the cost of buying them will add up quickly. If you are worried about the smell, tie them up in a plastic grocery bag before putting them in a lidded trashcan. Or use Arm and Hammer Bag Refills. They hold a days worth or more of diapers and are a safe and smell free way to dispose of diapers. Tie the bag up when full and throw in the trash. They are a must have when traveling!
An Abundance of Headbands
Yes, headbands are cute and all, but you do not need hundreds of them. Lets be honest, they wear them for about five minutes while you take darling pictures of them and then they most likely fall off or get ripped off.
What are the baby items that you found that you couldn't live without? What about those that you wish you hadn't bought?
